If you need to know what makes up Europe, just think who is it that will accept Euro bills." Sorry but I have to respond to that. A number of countries in your 'Europe' do not use the Euro (sadly in my opinion) in which case in what continent do you think the UK, Sweden et al are in?? We are all Europeans over here regardless of the currency we use. I don't understand why you have to feel that a continent is identified by its currency. Maybe it's the inherent capitalist nature of North America which make some people think like that or maybe is a simple misunderstanding of a strange land over the ocean... who knows. In addition what really gets me is when a British person says something like 'Im going to Europe for my holidays'.. Makes my blood boil!!! ggrrrr jv - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Allan Wafkowski Sent: 06 August 2002 22:15 To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Dumb camera thieves We Americans see a number of countries in Europe using the same currency called the Euro, same laws, and we see courts with jurisdiction between countries. It very much looks as if Europe is some kind of Orwellian melting pot losing its individual identities. Americans are not breed to be so docile as to easily give over its internal affairs to an entity called the World Court as Europeans have urged us to do. Sam wasn't so far off the mark when he called Europe Europe. If you need to know what makes up Europe, just think who is it that will accept Euro bills.
