Although Alfies works seem kinda pseudo-modernist to me, the idea is good. Shoot your photos, make a PDF, print it out on your photo printer on demand and sell. What if Irving Penn would have done that? There is nothing wrong with everybody being able to produce and market their works at a low cost, rather than being dependent on publishers (we all know how they are). The only "problem" is that there is a lot of "noise" emerging, in the form of in-general-not-very-interesting-junk, and we will have to figure out how to find the good stuff. Nowadays I find the most interesting music I ever heard from some small web sites and home-run record companies all over the place. In fact, I don't even care whether it is "good" or not anymore. I only care about if I like it or not. And after all, is there always such a big difference between our Super Hollywood Star and Joe on Big Brother, except for the mega-marketing machinery and styling team behind the former...?
