In 1985 I wanted a digital enlarger so badly that I started to build one. It got to be too much work and I had to stop. Instead I made a lot of prints with a digital film recorder and my Omega B8. Here it is 17 years later, and the want is faded but not gone. In another 2 or 3 years, technology like inkjet ought to eliminate the need completely.
