The sun can, and has for some people, burnt a hole in the cloth shutter.
However, it takes a while in the sun for this to happen, so if you are
shooting photos, you would need to take a long while framing the picture to
get this to occur.  Luckily, this is not a problem that we experience in the
UK, we have very 'Leica cloth shutter friendly' weather!
