Well, if that's the case - so be it. But I, for one, believe that one can oppose the government and still support those who are sent to enforce the government's incorrect policy. I also believe that one has an obligation to oppose the government when one believes its policies are incorrect - actually, I think our Founding Fathers considered that to be a basic obligation of citizenship. The fate of your friends in Kuwait, Marc, is not dependent upon the millions of Americans who oppose present government policy - it is dependent upon George Bush and his advisors: he has sent them there; he has provided them with their weaponry and plans. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Marc James Small Sent: Friday, February 14, 2003 4:25 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Cc: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] FS: Special Anti-War Protest edition Leica M7 At 04:01 PM 2/14/03 EST, Teresa299@aol.com wrote: > >The point is to paint any American who disagrees with Emperor Bush as a >traitor and all nations questioning war as a first option as ingrates. > Gag me, lady. I have too many friends in Kuwait right now to have any truck with your silliness. I feel that US foreign policy should be quite a bit different than it is -- holding Israel to account for its own brand of terrorism and the like -- but I certainly do not wish to undercut my fellows in the military.
