However, because of the need for stopped-down metering, I only use my Leica lenses on the EOS when the camera is tripod-mounted. There is even an Exakta to EOS adapter, but it does not quite focus to infinity. 1) there are at least 4 different manufacturers of the R to EOS adapters. The Novoflex adapter tends to be a bit tight, sometimes too tight and hard to remove. The Chinese and Russian made adapters tend to be of lower quality, made of aluminum instead of brass. The REOS adapters I sell are made in Japan, and I believe easier to mount/unmount than the Novoflex. 2) so far, none of my customers have reported any problem to me of uneven exposures using any of the lens adapters on Digital EOS. possible causes of the reported problem discussed here on the LUG include a camera malfunction. another possibility is no problem at all, if it was just light falloff. for all the speculation generated, until that camera and lens setup is tried in combination with other lenses and bodies to narrow down the problem, it will be difficult to be SURE of whatever is causing the reported problem. 3) Canon has produced many digital EOS models, so it is difficult to generalize about all of them. to find out how YOUR particular digital EOS will operate with a lens adapter, just check your instruction book for its operation on a bellows. the operation with that camera and a lens adapter should be the same, as neither setup has any linkage to the shooting lens.
