That is the killer practical problem. No matter how good the optics are, 
if you can't focus the lens properly, or miss the shot while you are 
fiddling around with nobs etc, then it is no good. This is the problem 
with the Visoflex system as well IMHO. The great thing about the M 
system is (actually) its ease of use ... the optics are of secondary 
importance. Of course in ease of use I include fast maximum F stops, 
which allow shots to be taken that would otherwise be ruined with a flash.

As far as I am concerned, the best digital sensor available today is a 
roll of any good slide or color print film taken to a good one hour 
minilab ... works great with my scanner and photoshop :-))

People that really need the convenience and speed of digital (e.g. news 
photographers) basically don't really care (or ought not to care) about 
subtle differences between Leica R and Canon L lenses.

That said, a digital R back sounds tasty :-))
