The M mount Voigtlander R3-A makes the 2nd best debut of the year!
Outside the Canon 20D dSLR, the new R3-A has already out sold all our
new introductions this year. Not bad for a film camera! We literally had
to take 2 orders for it at the same time today ...something that doesn't
happen much with multi-thousand Leicas...so I'm tickled by its
reception. Film seems alive and well for CV users...
I think that I give this camera the "most for your money" award. It is
an M mount rangefinder, 1.0x viewfinder (beautiful btw!) top speed of
1/2000, and it has aperture priority, a shutter release lock like the
M7, AE lock (even for multiple frames) and an even quieter shutter than
the somewhat loud R2. All this is yours for the low low price of $599,
thank YOU Mr. K. for making the Toyota of rangefiders. ;>
