Subject: [Leica] Leica/Digital - heresy?

No reflex - including the R8-9, which has a really terrific VF -
compares to an M. ;-)
And with any DSLR that has less than a full 35mm size sensor there will
be some initial viewfinder shock. But you do get used to it pretty
quickly.

Yes, I agree with you there. I presume the better
bodies have better VF's. But, wow! At quite a
cost, at least in Nikon land.

I do have an N80 that my g'friend uses. I haven't
done a side by side with the D70 yet, but with
the N80, while dim, I don't recall ever having that
VF "huh?" reaction :-) I'll do a quick test later and
report back.

In any case, none of the above are quite as nice as looking through a
good bright line VF :-)

In general, I like SLRs for DOF preview with longer
lenses, and that's about it. SLR's are pretty darn good for that kind
of thing! (Macro to, I guess, but I don't do that).

Otherwise, RF it is for me. But then, I'm not trying to
make a living with photography, no deadlines, no
customers, no real economies to worry about, etc.
