Rick,

Something along the last one, but with the wording slanted more towards 
future camera purchases and designed to elicit maximum guilt, for 
example: "Don't worry honey, after I have finished paying off that ring 
I got you 5 years ago, I might have enough to replace/repair the 
camera". Or something like that, obviously adjusted to your particular 
situation.
