Or - if you've got CS or CS2 installed, and the latest version of the RAW
plug in installed, all you need to do is double click on your raw file, and
it will open in the Camera Raw window. That said - download the free Adobe
DNG converter and use it to bring in your raw files from camera or card.
They will come in as DNG files, and you can work with them just like raw
files. The big advantage is that you have the option of setting the DNG
converter for lossless compression, and the files will be stored in much
less space than RAW files but with no other functional difference.

"Which version of Photoshop do you have? Does it have Bridge? If so,
"use Bridge to select the photos you want to open, right click them
"and choose "Open in Camera Raw." The photos will open in Camera Raw
"where you can do as much work as you want to on them before clicking
"OPEN and then they will open in Photoshop. If you have any problems
"opening the Raw files, it probably means you need to download an
"upgrade from Adobe.
"
"Hope this helps.
