It's horrible, and it's not *only* white working class officers giving minorities a hard time. A good friend has the serious misfortune of working for the TSA airport security (down on his luck), staffed mostly by lower class African Americans at his particular airport. The stories he tells of his thuggish coworkers bragging about "f*cking with that white b*tch," stealing stuff from passengers and so on and so forth are just HORRIFYING. Yes, he also tells me that many of the passengers are jerks, yelling at line workers who are just doing their jobs. But absolutely NOTHING to justify the obvious and extreme anger-driven thuggery on the part of many of his coworkers. The staff is so criminal, that no one dares keep anything of value in their own locker room !!!! Really sad. IMHO, cranking up the salaries for security staff of all kinds would go a long way toward attracting efficient, effective but still cordial and honest folks with good judgement in our security forces.
