Jerry is no doubt familiar with the very serious issues with composites and 
exotics in the aerospace world also. Spending time
around aircraft following catastrophic damage serves up a cocktail of 
nasties.
But don't stick your Giotto up your nose and you should be fine.

the same kind of problem that you will get if you delaminate a carbon  
fiber stick and inhale it, or if you mess with the toner of your  
laser printer and it ends down your nose, as many other materials.  
AFAIK you can break it, given the case, but it won't become nothing  
light enough to float into air as it could do it with fabrics exposed  
to high temperatures (if not, why use them?). Anyhoo, it's just my  
personal opinion. :)
