When I managed printing and graphics, I would have to arm wrestle my graphic designer to make computer upgrades. She hated it and always felt it was one step forward and two steps back. Left up to her, we'd still be using Xerox Ventura on a i286. Does Mac come out with "service pacs" to fix reported problems and how do you know when they are out? I just want to scan and print pretty pictures - the obscure, arcane, and esoteric I can do without. If I had to do it again I would have waited awhile. When I upgraded my G4 Powerbook it loaded the program but gave me the spinning wheel of death when I wanted to access any functions. I took it to the local Apple dealer and he said, motioning to the stack of laptops behind him with the same problem, that it would be days before he could get to mine. And, of course, I am still having issues with my I Mac getting it to play nice with my newish Epson Stylus Photo 1390. There are costs to being an early adopter.
