Your older Tele-Elmar was made in the 1st year of production, 1965, and has the original knurled focusing ring. I also have an older knurled version made in 1969. But my lens head is like your newer one. Your newer version with ribbed focusing was made in 1971 and was the standard until 1992 when the mount was changed to include a built-in hood.
