When the printer is turned off the print heads rest on a small sponge. Aram's suggestion was to saturate the sponge with window cleaner and leave the heads in contact with it for a day or so. Then turn the printer back on and run through a few cleaning cycles to unclog the heads. The trick is to get access to the sponge. On the C86 you can push the button that prepares the heads for an ink change and the head assembly will move to the left. Then you can use a spray or dropper to put window cleaner on the sponge. You then need to reposition the heads on the sponge and let it sit for a while. The exact procedures might vary with different printers, but this is the general idea. Anyway, I was able to restore complete function after a day-long soak and 4-5 cleaning cycles. -- Phil Swango 307 Aliso Dr SE Albuquerque, NM 87108 505-262-4085
