The second one is sheer kitsch IMO. Even if I would not hesitate to add some more 'drama' to your shots (except for your South-America low light B&W work, which is fabulous), I'd never give these such a look that they get 'retro'd': it could easily enhance wrong stereotypes. I hope this is not too provocative.
