Looks to me like an attempt to recreate Autochrome - with this 
subject there's a 1910's-20's National Geographic Magazine look.

As such it's reasonably successful though not at all to my personal 
taste.  I appreciate the historical value of the originals but 
wouldn't want to go back to it....

As to the commercial viability of it, I am NOT the person to ask. 
Virtually nothing of the last 30 years of "marketing" has made any 
sense to me at all, and things are not looking brighter for the 
future.
