I spoke to my dad on the phone the day before yesterday, just terribly normal things like what he was planning to cook for Christmas dinner, whether the German Christmas cakes and gingerbread biscuits we sent were really to be shared with my sister. I'll miss the clearing of the throat and the "Heeello, 'ow are you then?" that were his first words when he called, and many other things too. Take good care of your Dad, and a Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones from Frauke, Florian and myself here in Hannover.
