The Summarit around $1600, the Cosina is around $800K Even at 2 stops slower, I think Leica found a target here...... For the price they are really terrific. Does a $300 Cosina lens compete with new $1600 Leica lenses.. Not in my book.<<< Hi Frank, I would've agreed with you a few years ago, but since I started using the 35mm f1.2 CV lens and looked at photographs with Leica glass 35's I'd used for several years, I'd take the CV over the Leica. Obviously this isn't the case with every CV lens to Leica. But I never cease to be amazed how well this f 1.2, 35mm lens cuts digital images on M8 and on film when I have a mental relapse or collapse and use film. :-) Maybe I just got lucky and the lens I have is a winner, but honestly I'd put it up against a Leica lens any day. Now these comments are from shooting real time work stuff and not testing mm to mm trying to look for differences on a sheet of newspaper tacked to the wall. The bottom line has always been, "how good the print looks and does the content excite the client!" If that's the case then they pay me and I smile! :-) ted _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
