Dick,

<Have you any comparison of the screen brightness with and without the
<OptiBrite treatment?

Sorry no, I have not had a screen without the OptiBright treatment.

I forgot to mention I dialed in -0.7 exposure compensation with the screen.

<This is good news. It makes sense that changing the screen shouldn't
<affect the warranty and it sounds like Nikon was reasonable in this
<case.

Not voiding the Warranty makes allot of sense considering "The
Magnusson-Moss Warranty Federal Trade commission Improvement Act of
1975" (http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/15/ch50.html#PC50).

I am not an attorney. Please consult a real one. However my understanding
of Magnusson-Moss is the requirement for the
manufacturer to prove a modification caused the failure to void a warranty.

Considering the F6 I own allows consumer changing of focusing screens, such
would be a stretch.

JB
