I have had the consumer level lenses before but have always pined for the faster pro-level lenses. For example, I used the 70-300 3.5-5.6 for several years before I had the chance to try a 70-200 2.8 VR lesn and I must say I liked it immensely. I also used the 70-200 on a D2x so I immediately knew that my next camera was going to have some of those features. That's what lead me to put the D70 on "that auction site" last year. Goin' down tomorrow to take a look...they have a 17-55 in stock along with the camera. I'll let you know how it goes...
