I just sent my 2.8C Xenotar into Harry Fleenor for a CLA. Thanks to
everyone who referred me to him last month. Certain older cameras are
worth repairing. Rollei TLRs with lenses in good condition, certainly.
Leica M's, too.

My Rollei 2.8C still functions. But it could use an overhaul. I thought
about waiting but I wonder how long it will be before repairs are no
longer possible, due to lack of parts or good repair people. Hopefully
that won't happen for a while.

I always felt that one nice thing about shooting 120 -- aside from more
film area -- is that there are only 8 to 16 frames per roll; or 12 in
square which is what I shoot. You can switch film for speed or type
reasons more often. Sometimes the 24 or 36 frames in 35 are too many. I
tried spooling my own 35mm, into 12 frame rolls, but that was too much
work. MF is also easier to process when using small tanks by hand, IMO.
OTOH, I'm better set up to scan or print 35mm (Minolta 5400 and Focomat
Ic).

I miss Verichrome Pan. Or I'll miss it soon. I only have 4 rolls left.
Wouldn't it be nice if someone at Kodak would fire up a batch for old
times' sake? Or 120 Tech Pan! Don't suppose there's a snowballs chance
of either happening :-(
