You KNOW they've thought up a lot better stuff to sink your 500 bucks into now. And if they haven't get nikon or canon. Your normal primes are now short teles. How much compatibility are they going to be on the digital technology? They might be clucky. Id think of cheap plastic lightweight VR glass when getting into digital. With total compatibility. AF, metering, you name it. Adorama has redone their store and they're very nice. Friendly homey. (B&H is just huge and you have the conveyer belt experience) Its just a less up front that B&H is on their website as to if their thing is in stock or not. You can go click and wait three days or three weeks. Or you can call on the phone and get a more clear thing on that from them. Or go to the B&H website and spend a little bit more. And click and know you're getting it in a couple of days for sure. I go to B&H and spend a little bit more usually unless I'm in that neighborhood Adorama is a very cool store to go into. Their cards seem a lot cheaper than B&H and they are right behind the counter. B&H in their website in effect puts their cards right on the table. I like that. And they look into the crystal ball of their computer and see me going back decade after decade. I'd get a Nikon D60 with an 18x55 DX VR lens. Pentax was exciting when the ist first came out but have since fallen out of the race. The way it seems to me. But brand loyalty also seems to pay off. So go down fighting with your Pentax's. I used to love the Spotmatic. Mark William Rabiner markrabiner.com
