[Leica] Is the DOF using a digital sensor any different than thatof film?

Seth, DoF does depend on format as it's perceived in the final print. 
Larger formats don't have to be enlarged as much, so the DoF in the 
negative can be larger for the same effect.

The combination scales were on standards that were intended for 
multiple formats; on my main standard which came with a 4x5-p, it 
only had the 4x5 standard but when I got an 8x10 frame and bellows I 
also got a larger rear standard (not always necessary) and stick on 
DoF scales (actually, depth of focus scales) for 4x5, 5x7, 8x10 and a 
combination that had all three. It indicated (correctly) that the 
depth of focus for an 8x10 image was the same at two stops wider than 
that for 4x5.
