To me, the first image is not as sharp when viewed at normal gallery size, but is very sharp when viewed large. The second image is quite sharp at gallery size, but one does not have the opportunity to see the larger image if he or she is interested. It seems we have to make a choice. If I have a so-so image, I size it so that it can't be enlarged. If I feel the image can stand close examination, I upload the larger image. I have another question. I sometimes upload TIF images, which Brian's software converts to JPEG. Does that give a better gallery image than uploading a JPEG? I haven't come to a conclusion on that yet.
