Well, we know they exaggerate, but here ya go:

I feel my XPan landscape photos are sometimes limited by dynamic range,
especially in the shadow area (as an aside, a very good Tri-X user says I
should rate Tri-X at ISO200 and develop normally, except if they are
contrasty, then N-1 [ slightly less convenient since XPan uses 35mm but film
is cheap]). An opportunity came up to get a used Phase One P30 so bye bye
21' Summilux and hello P30 back. I picked up a basic 503CW kit from KEH (hey
look, no dark slide needed :-) !) and putting the system through its pace in
the last couple days. I think the viewfinder itself weighs more than the M
so this is definitely not a hang on your neck or put in your pocket camera.

My wimpy little Benro shakes like a [insert colorful metaphor here] and I
need to pick up a more "manly" tripod. I am picking out another Benro. Now I
need to choose a solid head. Joy joy joy.

More testing next week after we return from Tai Chi lessons.
