Quite so. Seems to be a very popular "newish" genre with lots of practitioners around the globe. And it seems to me to be an area where, in the right hands, the subject, style and effects merge well to express something worthwhile. The same can be said of those doing the best work in night photography and other high dynamic range subjects. I do think that Viveca Koh's work stands a bit above many others riding this particular train; because while she's obviously using special effects the effects seem necessary to achieve, and at the service of, her very strong vision. Too many others it's the opposite. No sense of their vision - just a lot of special effects. as always YMMV > On Thu, Jan 20, 2011 at 2:29 PM, George Lottermoser <imagist3 at > mac.com>wrote: > >> Here's a photographer that seems, to me, to use Fx to successfully achieve >> her vision and style: >> < >> http://vivecakohphotography.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Fine-Art-Special-Effects-Urban-Exploration/G0000DcoLCJePo0s/I0000oKTTCu6XTDg Regards, George Lottermoser george at imagist.com http://www.imagist.com http://www.imagist.com/blog http://www.linkedin.com/in/imagist
