I don't consider complaining about being treated rudely in not being allowed to see that lens. It's almost impossible to solve that sort of problem. The problem that I hope can and should be solved is that Leica Japan's repair department quoted almost 200,000 yen for a repair job that was then undertaken by DAG in the USA for under 200 dollars. Either they're ripping people off, or they are incapable of locating mechanical/electronic problems, so resort to replacing far more than is necessary (to the tune of ten times the price). I think there is a customer base here that is being overly exploited by Leica's Japan branch. Here is the e-mail I received from Leica Japan when I told them there is a repairman in the USA who quoted me $180 for my M7 job: .................................................................................................................................................. 180$.... It's very reasonable! wow.... We really hope the technician will never come to Japan for Leica's repair. Have a nice weekend Best Regards, Naoki Sekiguchi .................................................................................................................................................. Hmm... I can see why he has an interest in hoping that! All the best, Peter
