I buy different focal length lens to see if I like them, and sell them when I find out I don't. I rarely buy another lens of the same focal length when I already have a winner. I don't shoot lens for their characters. I shoot with a lens to get an image. (During the dark years, I even sold gear to pay bills, but I rather let that episode behind.) If I am not using a lens, I let it go for someone who might use them. They may get their Pulitzer prize winner with a lens I once owned. If it sits in my drawer, then it just gathers dust and fungus. This means that the 'luxes are my stable, in particular, the 35 'lux ASPH, but the 50 and 75 luxes are also just exceptional lens. I do have 3 non-Leica lens: the 85/2 Sonnar ZM, which for my uses, is superior to the 90/2AA; the Nokton 50/1.1, which for its price, is just a great tool when you want that F1.1; and the 21/2.8 Biogon because with the popularity of the M9, the Leica (used) lens prices have gone from stratospheric to somewhere in the orbit of Mars. I also do have other cameras and lens that I keep mainly for sentimental reasons. Heck, the M7 has not seen a roll of film in a few years, but it's my first M and will do as M9 backup. -- // richard <http://www.imagecraft.com/> // icc blog: <http://imagecraft.com/blog/> // photo blog: <http://www.5pmlight.com> [ For technical support on ImageCraft products, please include all previous replies in your msgs. ]
