It was cheap ( and especially cheaper than a Hassy. The alternative was a used Rolleiflex or Mamiya TLR, which still were more money), had good optics, and overall was pretty reliable and intuitive to the 35mm shooter. The S2 should be so lucky to sell the same quantities......
