The ways and means of attaching 35mm, roll cameras or backs to view cameras 
has been around for decades.
Doesn't really matter if they're digital or film.

I milled an aluminum plate with Tmount to mount any 35 to a 4x5 Graflock 
back 25 years ago.

More recently the Cambo Ultima allows me to mount the M8, R8/DMR or 5D to it:

The big problem with these SLR to View chassis set ups is the mirror box 
gets quickly in the way.
Whereas the MF backs eliminate that hinderance;
and present the new difficulties of arranging a precisely mounted ground 
glass which can quickly and accurately interchange with the back.

A mirror less camera mounted to the chassis makes an interesting compromise;
though, alas, no full frame offerings in that class.
