By that I mean using a stop that allows enough DOF to allow sharp eyes if the forehead is sharp. For follow focusing not so much. My experience using a 75 Summilux at 1.4 on eyes is faster than a 1Ds MK as you have to set a focusing sensor and precisely align on eyelashes. Watching for a flash of red as you focus through is pretty fast. Sometimes having choice slows you down, but I think that with my wide lenes and R lenes the finder will be fantastic. Will I be able to focus quickly? Well probably not certainly not as fast as the D3s, so for some subjects the M/R remains a big compromise BUT it does make the M a very good option as a travel camera: small and now with macro and tele options.
