What are you willing to die for?
"the concept of only photographing in RAW mode."

I wonder if the RAW ARMY is also willing to kill for the idea?

I only shoot RAW. Though if my life depended on delivering a .jpg out of a
camera - I'd deliver the .jpg.

In reality: It's obviously very possible to develop software to: preserve
highlight and shadow detail; provide a deep, rich dmax; and provide any
other parameters one desires.

The only reasons to drag a RAW FILE through a RAW processor: 1) to see if an
other than "normal" rendering may be preferred; a delightful and potentially
creative process to be sure; and one I have always enjoyed. 2) to "save" an
under or over exposed, or poorly lit file.
