Though perceived as an unobtainable high ticket item an M6 cost what an F3 cost and an M4 cost about what an F2 cost. And son on back in time. Now the top of the Line Nikon cost $6,000 and the top of the line Leica cost $6,950. I do think that if somebody could swing a D4 they could wait for one more paycheck to come in and get an M240. And its not as if the New digital M's are feats of low tech engineering (cloth shutter no AF) which seem like a lot of money when you can get High tech engineering from Nikon or Canon for about the same money. That was the case before. One could say the problem is if you want to get a handsome set of new Leica glass to complete a very filled out system than that's way bigger bucks than a case full of the Nikon Canon glass one guy buy on a whim at the end of every month Thing is we can still go back a few decades and get used Leica glass at whatever price point we choose.
