Have you tried the back LCD with a loupe? Magnified without a loupe?
If you're doing tripod based photography, this is the best way to go, no 
matter the platform; the EVF will get you close, the LCD with loupe will get 
you there. Especially after taking the exposure, checking with the LCD and 
adjusting. That's what I've done with C*'s, N*'s and now with Medium Format 
backs. It's a pretty well established digital workflow for the exposure 
portion in the field for landscapes...

For handheld I'm not sure why you would want to use other than the 
rangefinder. It's a joy and why I have M's... Other SLR lenses would not be 
as sharp; I don't think they can be. Though sharp for film, sharp for 
completely flat sensors is a whole new ballgame IMO. That's why you need 
Live View for them...
