It keeps track of how much ink is used so that Epson?s software can tell you that it is time to replace the cartridge, and it prevents people from refilling the cartridge to avoid paying Epson?s criminally high ink prices. A filled cartridge will still show as ?empty? and the printer will refuse to use it, thanks to the chip. There are companies that sell chip-resetters to circumvent this. -- Chris Crawford Fine Art Photography Fort Wayne, Indiana 260-437-8990 http://www.chriscrawfordphoto.com My portfolio http://www.facebook.com/pages/Christopher-Crawford/48229272798 Become a fan on Facebook On 4/16/17, 10:28 PM, "LUG on behalf of herbertkanner" <lug-bounces+chris=chriscrawfordphoto.com at leica-users.org on behalf of hkanner at sonic.net> wrote: >As far as I can tell, all heads are working.
