Subject: [Leica] No Top Ramen....The downside to a RF-LESS M....

Leica just announced their new M model. without a rangefinder.? It uses
regular old 1953 era M lenses.

No RF?? How do you focus it?

I guess you could hold the camera at arm's length and focus off the LCD
screen in the back.......

Good luck with that!

What Leica has done is to recommend the focus ?peaking function.

Is this good?? It depends on you... to me it is not good.? If you own a
Nocti, not even close.....

And in the long run this will be the basic debated issue..... how to
focus this camera.

Maybe thinking of it as a camera that uses ground glass focusing will be
my redemption?

OTOH, this is precisely the way I focus my M glass on my Sony A7riv
body...... More thought is necessary.

Nice 5.76MP VF device.... that is good and may make my solution viable.

Check out this review, start at 6:50 minutes in the video.....

BTW, no IBIS.? A shame.

I guess I do not have to eat Top Ramen for the next few years to afford
one......

Maybe the M11 with IBIS IS the ultimate Leica?

For that, I can see an exclusive diet of Top Ramen.....and wait, and
wait, and wait.

Or just use my M glass on my Sony...... specs are remarkably
similar..... and I can save about $5,000

Hmmmmmmmm
