I have actually handled one.  You can set it up to magnify the image as you
focus so getting precise focus through the viewfinder is very, very
doable.  If you stay in the 35-50-90 range this probably doesn't matter too
much.  Do you reach for a 20 or a 10mm then the viewfinder
definitely works.  Took a workshop from Ralph Gibson, then the 135 becomes
very useful to you.  Does the curvature of field with old lenses keep you
from using the outer third for your main subject wide open; then this
camera works for you.

Now, the discussion should be whether the lower price point of the SL
series with IBS outweigh the size, weight, ergonomics of the M family.  If
a 28ish lens or a 50is lens works for you then I would probably recommend
the Q series as they are weather sealed, have IBS and a great viewfinder.

It's all about choice and the ability to use tools from the 1930's to the
present if those tools allow you the freedom to create what you can dream.
