When the Canon AE-1 was selling for $329, I was paying $309 for them. Leicas are typically marked up more, since there is less competitive pressure on them, and since you don't move the same volume. One option is to sell the M4-Ps on consignment. If you can find a good dealer, you might get charged only 15% consignment fee. Others will take as much as a third. Camera stores I worked for almost never bought used equipment - strictly trade-in or consignment.
