What is so great about the Summicron 35/2 and not so great
about the Summilux 35/1.4?

If you can find a 35mm f 2.0 Summicron in decent condition, get it. I
believe this particular lens is one of the great triumphs of the lensmaker's
art. I'll take it any day over my Nikon 35mm f2. I have heard other photo
authorities applaud this lens as well. I bought my 35mm Summicron used
in 1966, and it's still a fantastic lens.
