     One horror story,

When I worked in a camera store in the mid-80's, a nice, long time
customer came in with his IIIC. Had a nice collapsible elmar on it.
Anyway, he hadn't used it for awhile. During the period of non-use,
he had the camera sitting on a shelf in his study, without a lens cap.
He decided to start shooting again. When he started shooting again,
there would be this line of white across his prints. This went for
two rolls of film that he put through it. It seemed that, due to the
age of the shutter and the position of the camera on the shelf and no
lens cap, there was a small hole burned into the secondary blind.
Therefore, there was this burned white line.

This is the only instance I have ever seen of a shutter being
     burned through.

     Pablo

Have any of you Leica users had the shutter curtains
accidentally burned by sunlight?
I heard this is possible, if you have a small aperture
set in the lens and the camera is left towards sun without
a lens cap.

Is this something you always take into account on a
sunny day? Any horror stories?
