One of the very best Leica repair specialists (maybe the very best
for M's) is Don Goldberg at DAG in McFarland Wisconsin. Don's worked on
several of my cameras.... including a M3 that he rebuild the rangefinder. I
suspect that your rangefinder may be de-cemented and need a re-build. It
seems to me that the work cost something in the neighborhood of $200. ( DAG
