    According to info received from another member of this list, Leica
sold the Midland works to Hughes in the early 90s. It is now called
Hughes Elcan, and inter alia produces somes items for Leica.
    This explains an earlier query of my own about seeing "Leitz" lenses
on Hughes/JVC video/data projectors. Of course!
