Subject: Leica --> EOS adapter- forget it

I had hoped to be able to say- what a neat adapter. Well I've had it one
day, tried it for the first time an hour ago and now it's stuck on my
90mm Summicron-R and will now probably need a repairman to get it off
again. The instructions say, regarding removing the adapter from the
lens;

"The most simple way to release the lens, from the adaptor, will be the
one when you actuate the pin with your fingernail." This is confusing
because nowhere does it actually say in what direction the pin needs to
be "actuated", although it won't go inwards, it's too small to rotate
and the only way left is outwards, which is presumably where the
(presumably steel) fingernail comes in.

Having scrabbled about trying to "actuate the pin with my fingernail"
for a while- and getting nowhere- I eventually tried the long thin bit
of a biro lid, which is soft plastic and probably one order of toughness
up from a fingernail. This only succeeded in detaching the "pin" (a tiny
little knob about a sixteenth of an inch long and wide) from the
adapter. This is not good. I am now left with the prospect of trying to
get the damm thing off the lens and then trying to get my money back.

Conclusion; as it is I wouldn't recommmend this adapter. It worked well
enough until I tried to get it off the lens, but that is an important
stage in the use of such an adapter!- at least as important as any other
stage, and that is not reflected by the design.
