Subject: Singapore or Japan

A friend of mine, currently stationed in Japan, will be in Singapore
soon. He would like some advice on buying cameras. He claims that
camera prices are cheaper in Singapore than in Japan. Can someone
confirm this? If so, could someone suggest a good camera retail
outlet in Singapore that he should shop at?
   Thanks for your help on this. He is just getting into photography
   and would like to take the opportunity to buy a good camera,
   now that he can do so at a reasonably low cost compared to
   what it would cost him back home (in Canada).
