What are the differences between an M6 and an M4-P? Are there serious
disadvantages to the M4-P vs the M6??

No meter. Otherwise practically identical. The M4-P is a great camera.
They're built well, aren't TOO expensive, although prices have gone up
almost 25% this year alone. One ADVANTAGE of the M4-P v. the M6 is that on
the Canadian camera the RF window and the viewfinder window are set into the
body about 1.5mm. while the glass on the M6 is flush with the front surface
of the top cover. I think this makes those surfaces more vulnerable to
scratching and damage.

As a user body, provided you address the meter problem with something
accurate and reliable, the M4-P is a good choice at a fraction of the cost
of an M6.
