Subject: M6

Leica friends,
A few days ago, I received a used M6 at a reasonable price from a
dealer. Camera has been well used but apparently not abused. Winding
on and shutter release smooth as silk. Two negatives: vertical RF
alignment off a bit but distance seems ok as per results of roll of film
I shot. The second is the frame counter goes to #15 and no further
although it moves a bit when you advance film. Also does not reset when
film is rewound and removed. My question: of course I can return to
dealer and get a different body (might have to spend more) or I can keep
this one and send for repairs. Problem is I'm leaving on an extended
trip in ten days and I want to have a second M body for black&white.
Since everything else seems to work OK, does anybody know any quick &
dirty cure that will get frame counter working or is this a serious
repair?
