Juan,

I believe the top plates are available yet.  Over here I would guess
that the job would run about $400.  Check with Leica service for a more
exact estimate where you are.  I would say it would be worth it if the
rest of the camera is very nice.  If the rest of the camera is "user", I
wouldn't.  Maybe a piece of black tape over the offending area?
