Lucien, your CLE does have a delay.  
There is a delay in all things... electrons move at 186,000 miles per
second.... mechanical things require force to overcome inertia which takes
time, gear trains require time to contact, etc.

What I believe you are saying is that you have become good at
pre-determining the precise moment you wish to photograph and lead the
photo by that time.  ( the concept of shooting ducks with a shotgun.... you
know that by the time your buckshot gets to the target, the target will
move forward... so you lead the ducks in your sights)

The problem with lead is that is the lead is too great, the image can
change.  Short lead= shorter time for the image to change.  Long lead-=
more chance for the image to change.  Shorter is much better.
